History of Radio Day

World Radio Day was started in 2011. In 2010, the Spain Radio Academy proposed to make February 13 World Radio Day. In the year 2011, UNESCO member countries accepted this proposal at the UNESCO General Conference, and then on February 13, it was announced to celebrate World Radio Day, after which the United Nations General Assembly also adopted it in the year 2011, after which UNESCO celebrated World Radio Day for the first time on February 13.

History of Radio in India

Radio broadcasting actually started in India about 13 years before All India Radio came into existence. In June 1923, Mumbai’s Radio Club did radio broadcasting for the first time in the country; 5 months after that, the Kolkata Radio Club was established; the Indian Broadcasting Company (IBC) came in 1927; and also faced fairy closure in just 3 years. He was appointed on the basis of the Industries Department. The next month, Akashvani established what we know as “AIR.”
