PAN – Aadhaar Linking Deadline Can Be Extended
According to the Ministry of Finance, a further extension of three months can be given for PAN-Aadhaar linking and it can be extended till June 30, 2023. But Aadhaar linking will be done along with the fine, no exemption will be given for this, yet the final decision has to come on this. This means that you will be able to link PAN-Aadhaar till June 30, 2023.
As per the rules of the TAX department of these PAN-Aadhar links, at present time, you have to pay a fine of ₹ 1000.

For Whom It is Necessary To Link PAN Aadhaar And For Whom it is Not
As per Income Tax Act Section 139AA every person who has been allotted a Permanent Account Number (PAN) as on 1st July 2017 and who is eligible to obtain an Aadhaar number. It is necessary for them to give the information on the prescribed form and their Aadhaar number. Such persons will be required to mandatorily link their Aadhaar and PAN with late fee payment by 31 March 2023. Linking PAN-Aadhaar is not necessary for those people who live in Assam, Meghalaya, Jammu, and Kashmir, and those who are non-residents.
