In the year of India’s independence in 1947, later, with the aim of making it democratic, the constitution of the country was started. It was built and ready in 2 years, 11 months, and 18 days. Then the Constitution of India was accepted by the Constituent Assembly of the country on November 26, 1949. Only after this, from the very next year i.e. 1950, on January 26, this constitution was implemented in the entire country.

Significance of 26 January

A special purpose was also told to choose this special date to implement the constitution. Actually, on January 26, 1930, India was declared completely independent by its Congress against the slavery of the British. In such a situation, 26th January was chosen as the date of implementation of the proposal of complete independence or keeping in mind the importance of 26th January to implement the constitution. With the implementation of the constitution on this day in 1950, the country has been fully declared a republic and on January 26, Republic Day is celebrated every year since then. And in future also it will be celebrated on 26th January only.

World’s largest written constitution

The need for an important constitution for the country was also felt since independence. In such a situation, a Constituent Assembly was also formed to make it. On the account of this assembly, it started the work of making the constitution on December 9, 1946. The President of this Constituent Assembly of India was Dr. Rajendra Prasad. While Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the chairman of the drafting committee of the constitution, was there. Dr. Ambedkar played an important role in framing the Constitution of India, due to which he is also called the architect of the Constitution. The Constitution of India is considered to be the largest written constitution in the world, which took 2 years, 11 months, and 18 days to prepare. Since then, on November 26, 1949, the Constituent Assembly handed over the constitution of the country to the President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad. This was the reason. Every year 26 November will be celebrated as Constitution Day.
