This show talks about the achievements and contributions of Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha, the mastermind of India’s nuclear program. Dr. Sarabhai is widely recognized as the father of the Indian space program and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is the forerunner of modern Indian aerospace and nuclear technology.
In the second season of Rocket Boys, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru ‘Mad Scientist’ Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha (Jim Sarbh) and Sara Bhai (Ishwak Singh) are grappling with bigger and more mature problems this season but with limited funds. In an interview, Ishwank Singh played his role as Rocket Boy Vikram Sarabhai and shared many of his experiences with it. He told that a well-written script provides hints and beauty. He relied on his senses to understand the era depicted in the show.
Ishwak Singh did research on the city of Ahmedabad and its culture at that time. He also studied at the University of Cambridge and the Indian Institute of Science to better understand Vikram Sarabhai’s experiences during his time there. Apart from this, he himself established the physical research laboratory and he also got information about such institutions.
Ishwak Singh through his research achieved a comprehensive understanding of the historical context and nuances of his character. Which he has shown in his performance in Rocket Boys Season 2.
