New Zealand vs Sri Lanka T20: Strong comeback in New Zealand T20 series, beat Sri Lanka by 9 wickets

The Sri Lankan team is currently on a tour of New Zealand. In this tour, a three-match T20 International series is being played between the two teams. The first match of the series was very exciting, the second match was one-sided.

A three-match T20 International series is being played between Sri Lanka and New Zealand cricket teams.

International T20 Two matches out of the three-match series have been played and both teams are currently tied at 1-1.

The last match of the series will be played on 8 April. The last match is going to be decisive. The first match of the series reached the super over where Sri Lanka won. In the second match, New Zealand made a strong comeback and won the match by 9 wickets. Both Sri Lanka and New Zealand teams have achieved a 1-1 draw in the series. New Zealand won the toss and allowed Sri Lanka to bat first in the match being played at the University Oval ground.

The Sri Lankan team could not play the full 20 overs and was all out after scoring 141 runs in 19 overs. Kushal Perera scored 35, Dhananjay D’Silva scored 37 and Charit Asalanka scored 24 runs, apart from these other batsmen could not score more than 10 runs.

Adam Milne took 5 wickets, Ben Lister took 2 wickets, Henry Shipley, Rachin Ravindra, and Jimmy Neesham took one wicket each.

Tremendous Innings From Tim Seifert

Chasing 142 runs, in reply New Zealand achieved the target of 142 runs in 14.4 overs by one wicket. Tim Seifert played an aggressive inning scoring 79 runs in 43 balls and 6 balls and returned not out. The same captain Tom Latham returned not out after scoring 20 runs in 30 balls. Chad Bose got out after scoring 31 runs in 15 balls.

Batting first opener Kusal Medis (10) was dismissed by Ben Lister. Adam Milne dismissed Pathum Nisaka (9). Kusal Perera (35) and Dhananjay da Silva (37) shared a 62-run partnership for the third wicket. Milne broke the partnership by dismissing Perera.

After that Rachin Ravindra dismissed Sri Lanka’s fourth wicket by dismissing Dhananjay. Since then, the Kiwi team completely dominated Sri Lanka. After losing 99/4 wickets, Sri Lanka’s wickets continued to fall, in this way Sri Lanka got all out after scoring 141 runs on 19th May.
